i want to get my 350x frame powder coated blue i will sandblast and prime the frame myself since i have everything to do it which will probably shave some cash off of getting it powdercoated any idea how much it will cost me if i sandblast and prime it myself?

PC won't stick to primer. If you have a PC shop right down the road and it's warm with low humidity, you can blast yourself.
Honestly unless you have a massive compressor, good size gun and a half/whole day to kill, it honestly isn't worth it. They may take off 60-100$ depending on the shop you use.
Be your best bet to call around for local shops, but I can't stand open blasting. Silica sand causes cancer, aluminum oxide is about 1$ per pound and it gets everywhere. A smaller compressor may work but I've blown up 2 of them that way.........

Spray primer won't work as a base for PC, as DC said. There are about 3 common primers for powder coating; red oxide, KL and high zinc. Each is used for different reasons. PC isn't like paint where the bare metal needs something between it and the finish. The red oxide is mostly used to fill/cover rough places in the substrate. KL does a nice job as a smoothing agent. Partially cured then sanded to get a really nice smooth finish, like glazing putty in automotive painting. The high zinc aids in preventing rust from reoccurring on badly rusted parts but should not be used on aluminum. Prices vary a great deal through out the country. Just the frame will cost you between $75 and $450 depending on the area and how many parts show up with just the frame. Many times production type shops will used a chemical stripper and then an iron phosphate coating and not blast at all. Before you do any of the prep work you should talk to your coater, to see what they prefer. Shop that don't blast won't cut you much (or any) slack on the price when a part comes to them blasted because bare metal starts to rust from the moisture in the air as soon as it becomes bare. Which can cause finish failure down the road. I blast everything before I coat it even if it comes to me stripped but another local shop just hangs and coats anything that comes in striped.

I blasted my frame, bars and swing arm and drove them right to Pc.....paid 170 for all.
