no spark problem

i got this 84 225dx and when i use the pull start i get a good healthy spark, but, when i use the electric start, no spark at all. it just sit's there and turns the motor, and then i can pull on the pull start and bam. so, any one have an idea?? thanks

Check the wiring from the starter to the spark plug area. Might have weak wiring.

I have seen this probably 20 times. We replaced the stator with a known good one and it fixed it every time. So my opinion is you need to find a new or good used exciter coil, you might just try to find a GOOD complete stator.
