I always use the good stuff ( Royal Purple ).
i learned the hard way and use regular motor oil and not for wet clutches and i burnt my clutches out, But its all better now.

I have been using hondaline 10W-30 lately, been workin real good for me. Don't forget, no matter what oil you use, it must be wet clutch oil. Standard oils aren't made for wet clutches, and they can cause all kinds of problems, like slipping.

IMO, cheap general brand or name brands, it doesn't matter, as all oil must meet a certain quality before it can go on the shelves. Do routine oil changes when it's time and you should be set.

    Honda oil. GN4

Its made for their bikes, and it is made for wet clutches and transmissions that share oil with the motor.

I trust the engineers at Honda. Especially for a big red, there is no need for royal purple's high performance oil. I have been using it my whole life, never blown a transmission or motor using it on my 4 strokes.

I ran Royal Purple in my old Raptor, It blew up. I'm not saying it was the oil, but the GN4 Honda oil has always been reliable.

Honda's gear oil for 2 strokes and new CRF's Transmissions is awesome as well. I have known a lot of banshee addicts that would even run it.

Roetella T 15w-40, I use it in all my workin' bikes, 03 Vinson,99 Foremen, 84 ALT185 and believe me that lil 185 has been Hammered on thru the years and the only thing in that motor that has been changed is set of rings back in the early 90's, no smoke, no clutch issue, and starts on the first pull. Dont waste money on High dollar oil , if you have the time just change it more offen . H%$# we use chage our oil after every race in our race bikes and strain it and reuse it in the tractors and the other engines around the house. That damn farmall loved golden spectro 20/50. Haha
