Wow - that's going to be a lot of work. Time for a Lifan/Loncin swap. Almost a bolt in.

not mine by good info and inspiration here:

I have the same engine in my 200x - I bought a $180 dirtbike with no hours (newbie owner with dirty carb) as a donor. I watch CL every day for a couple of months for a good deal.

I made my own wire harnes because my X did not have one when I got it.
I had to cut the frame crosmember under the engine to clear the drain plug.
I had to cut the sprocket cover to clear the frame.
I use the China carb with bigger jets (110/40) on the X intake with the X airbox + UNI filter and Bassani pipe.

It's OHV instead of OHC but that doesn't seem to matter beacause this engine RIPS. It will smoke my other X all day. I actually put a 13T counter (12T stock) sprocket because it runs out of gear. Very cool.

Of course if $$ is no object, bolt in a CRF 230 engine. That would be fantastic.

That seems odd to me. Is that the actual bike? How do you just borrow a motor? What happened to the Rotax?

It all makes no sense. It would make more sense to try to turn the bike into a trike. Or something. The whole thing confuses me. Finish the Rotax 399 hardtail.

If I'm correct that's the same motor as the mojave. I was looking to do the same swap into a 200x and there's no way it would fit with out a lot of fab work to the frame. The motor is way to tall. Plus you need somewhere to put radiators. It would be a big project. If you got it done it would be quick as the klx250 has twice power.

How many bedframes will die for this conversion?
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!
