Ok so this morning a guy comes in to work sayin he wants to sell his trike. He tells me its a Tri-Moto 225DX with mono suspension and a shaft drive. Electric start and a 2 stroke motor. Shouldnt this be a tri Z?

So did they Make a 225 2stroke with electric start?

Oh and I bought it without seeing it lol. Too Good of a deal to pass up.

It's a 4 stroke if it has shaft drive.. 225DX. No 225cc electric start 2 strokes with shaft drive were ever made.

KTM does but that is fairly new, and the only one I've heard of besides an Odyssey or the like.

Does it have valves on the head? Fairly sure they did make a 2 stroke 200 or something, but I believe it was a pull start and chain drive.

    I'm pretty sure they made a 60, 125, 175 and a 250 2 stroke 3 wheeler. The 200's were 4 strokes.

LMAO I dont even know what I bought. I am pretty sure its a 4 stroke from what I have found on Google.

I am positive its a 225 DX becasue the guy put a new battery and starter in it. Now the other thing is its got a manual clutch on it for sure as well because its brand new too. I havent seen the bike. If I did there would be no question what motor it is as I can tell a 4 and 2 stroke apart lol. Just wondering if any yammy guys have seen a 2 stroke trike with electric start before.

Ok so I just talked with the origional owner of the bike and I found out what I bought lol.

Its a 225 DX 4 Stroke, Shaft Drive Electric start. Has brand new clutch, battery starter and the engine might have 5 hours on it. The original owner sold it to the person that I bought it off 2 years ago with a fresh engine and he drive it once or twice down his back lane. Its a older guy and he said it scared him lol. so ya I dont know the year yet but it does have the mono shock in the rear. Big upgrade from the old 82 200 hardtail lol.

I am picking it up next week and will post pictures then.

I dont have pics yet, I pick it up next friday, We still have 2 feet of snow here. By manual Clutch I mean a standard clutch like what is on a 250 r and most dirt bikes etc. So I assume it would compare to a Honda 200x

You can still put a clutch in a non manual clutch 3 wheeler though. My guess would be it doesn't have a manual clutch.. I'm going to giggle if a KLT200 or KLT250 show up.. The only 2 non sport trikes with a manual clutch.

I am positive its a 225DX, I work for the original owner and the guy I bought it from is a customer. That is how I know it has a fresh engine and clutch. I will have to see when I go and get it what kind of clutch it has

Well a auto shift still has a clutch that can be replaced, its just not actuated with a hand lever. Didn't the Polaris Scrambler have e-start on a two-stroke trike?
