okay I need a new intake boot for my air cooled 250r.. the carb is a bigger mikuni with an OD of 44mm. I was looking at pictures of the water cooled 250r' intakes and the boot looks bigger. honda says the intake gasket is the same for all the 250r's so it should bolt up. My question is is what is the ID of the later 250's intake manifold? and will it actually bolt up to the earlier air cooled motor? tanks folks
I can fit a square peg in a round hole. Just give me a hammer and duct tape!

yes the 86 boot will bolt right up fine you can also us 86 reeds and cage if you wantted

The liquid cooled intake boot angles the carb the wrong way. The exhaust is on the right side on L/C 250r'sso those boots angle off to the left. The air cooled machines have the exhaust on the left side and will cause clearance problems. The best solution is an fl350 boot. They are also discontinued. Good luck.

well what if I flipped it upside down? so it angles the other way? those flt350 intakes are made of unobtainium....
