Thinking of buying an 88 Suzuki LT250R. What should I look for and expect from it ?

I do not really know anything about the lt250r . I am coming off of a 2004 400EX.
The LT250R is a 1988 model . what should I be looking for besides the obvious ? are there weak spots in the frame, does the kickstarter slip on these, bad tranny etc.
What are the good things about this quad ?
    Thanks

look for cracks in the frame.. blown cylinder base gaskets.. worn out suspension pivots/balljoints.. Some good things about the Lt250's are that they are very lightweight, they are comfortable, they respond well to basic mods and can make good power. The worst problems are usually the cheapo chinsey engine cases.. and funky steering geometry.. But when well maintained they are still great recreational machines. Dont buy one if you are lazy on maintenance or lack mechanical abilities..

I raced a 89 Q-racer in AMA MX in the 90s. They are great quads unlike the 85-86 Q-racers, but they all handle poorly.

The blue motor Q-racers had 30 hp stock and really respond well to mods. I usedHonda 250r A arms on mine and with LOTS of tweaking I got it to handle pretty good.

Handleing is there big flaw but that can be fixed.
