Why didn't anyone tell me? (auto-x)

The 350x brake lever from my parts stash fit on the lower foot peg mount and works like factory. I used the 200x rear linkage with the 350x brake lever. I was always under the impression there was fab work involved when doing brakes on an auto x!
Also, you auto-x owners... did you have shifter shaft clearance problems? I'm going to shim the left foot peg out about 1/4" to fix it.
It doesn't run yet, need to wire it up and cross my fingers. Thanks goes to Dirtface for the motor!

Yeah the foot peg needs to come out a bit. I put 2 washers under the pegs on mine. I had to shorten the shifter lever too. It was too long to comfortably operate the way it was.

Do you guys use a 200s wire harness or the 200x one?

I always used the 200S (ATC200) wiring harness on the 2 I have built. When did you get this thing Matt?

I used the 200x wiring, but I only did it temporarily until I got the x motor rebuilt. The s stator doesn't put out enough juice to make the headlight burn as bright as it should though.

Tim, a clean '84 200x + a motor from Dirtface(grabbed it Sunday)= a runner! I rode it around the yard today. I have a few things to button up on it, but it runs good for what it is! I hope to bring it to Snakefest! This is the one I swapped for the '86 and cash last fall. I loved the '86, but when I thought about it, I needed to make an auto-x for the kid, she's rapidly outgrowing the 70, so I made the deal.

We can talk about the headlight issue - I have a solution - 200S bulb in the 200X housing - takes some duct tape - but is rather effective - has worked perfect for me twice now! Auto-Xs are a great bike to have in the stable as far as I am concerned - I gotta get Shelly's out and get the solenoid fixed on it - hers has a GOKI electric start kit on it. She will have it at Snakefest too - so they can meet each other and become bestys!

LOL! I have never been a fan of the 200x headlight... I have the 350x shell you gave me on it, but the stator probably won't run that light, eh? I need to find a nice R headlight... lol
A Goki on Shelly's huh? Sweet... I don't think I've ever really looked at that one, always distracted by the 30 others I guess! 3 weeks til Ssssssnakefest-est-est!
Did that good for nuthin cousin of yours get my trips made yet? lol j/k... no hurry!! I have plenty o projects!
OH... what shifter did you use? Mine (200x one) hits the pull start case when I shift up to neutral... any easy fix?
