it only has like a mili meter of slack my buddy keeps telling me to drive it to stretch it, mind u if it will strech i do not care, but if its going to ruin my sprockets ill just buy a new chain, as i cant replace my sprockets cause the genious i bought it from welded the hubs on, also what size of chain does a 1981 185s use how many links and what # chain

Not only is it going to kill your sprockets, it's going to kill your axle bearings or (god forbid) your counter shaft bearing. Is the chain worn? Time for a new one? If you're not going to change the chain, you can get those half-links and install that for a tad more length. It might get you right where you need to be.
