    200es carb issues

I bought a old honda 200es that was basically a basket case, i got a friend to rebuild the engine and i added a xl200r cam to give it a little more low end torque. Well we got it running jbut the carb is giving us issues. We put a carb kit in it, Set the air flow to 1 and half turns out, But its back firing and bogging past half throttle. We figured it was running too lean so we set the throttle jet (one that has the 5 clips) to the second to last setting) It seemed to lessen the bogging issue but we still cant get it to idle. We have been messing with gas air flow jet trying 2 turns out 2 and half etc still wont idle right.

Those of you who have ran a xr200 or xl200 cam what did you have to do to your stock atc 200 carb to get it to run right? Will i need to rejet the carb if so what jets do you recomend?

Ok so i have my air fuel screw at 2 and a half turns out, and my main needle (one on the throttle plunger) set to the 2nd to last setting from the book that says more rich at mid throttle. I guess its this xl200r cam throwing it off, or the carb could just be crap It seems to have less bog past mid throttle but it still sputters some and it seems to be running hot. This carbs giving me problems its the stock 200es carb, Im probably going to replace it with a nice 200x carb.

Did you make triple-sure that your valves were set correctoy?

Setting them requires a flat head screwdriver, a 10mm wrench, a 5/16mm wrench, and some feeler gauges.

The magic number for the gauges is .005. Good luck, and make sure you tighten the 10mm nut down good when you are done, and recheck the clearance.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.
