    1984 ATC 200S problems

I just got this thing to start for the first time, and when it fired up, it sounded like the throtle was on all the way. i adjusted the idle and still nothing. I took apart the carb. and nothing was wrong. cable was right. any help? and please don't refer me to a manual.

200s carbs are pretty simple. however,
    the mistakes I've made?

Make sure the piston bottoms out correctly with the
inclined plane for the idle screw just right.
Make sure the 'w' clip that holds the main needle down INTO the piston hasn't flipped
Super fine threads holding the cable cap down are not crossed up
That rubber sleeve on the throttle cable actually prevents a vacuum leak
"O" ring from carb to engine must be intact or sealed somehow
    Other air leaks...cracked boot etc.

    What past of oregon?

yeah, i figured out the problem, my idle screw stripped so it got losdged in at the full position, also i was leaking some air. I decided to just order a new throttle+carb for $20. drjoe, im down here in corvallis, how bout you?

    Glad you found the prob.
Save your old carb for parts or to frame.

Veneta, getting ready for the 3 day country fair fiasco.
I'm hearing lots of riding places are closing except for the dunes..
