    turning a blaster into a 3wheeler

I bought a blaster for $75 that had a few motor problems that I have fixed and now the motor runs great. I tore the frame all up because i wanted to make it into a go kart/ dune buggy after not succeding at that i dont know what to do now. I have the engine but nothing to put it in. I was wondering how hard it would be to make that blaster frame into a 3 wheeler. Or should i just sell the motor for $150? If i made it into a 3 wheeler would it run good? Or be worth it? Thanks

Id say sell the motor and what parts are left and put it towards a real trike. I see all kinds of people buying cheap 250 2stroke racers on here all the time. You could probably buy a half decent 200x for 500. My blaster got dusted buy a 200x when I was in my younger days...

Been wondering about turning a blaster into a trike myself. There are a couple advantages to a more modern trike platform, such as, availability of replacement parts (my 86"X" is getting harder and harder to find parts for). There are a couple people out there that may be able to help you along. Perhaps TPC trikes could help you out, or perhaps the guys out in Tionesta (Pa) at Tionesta trikes could lend a hand. Keep posting if you do, I'm seriously interested!

If you shop around I think you might be able to find a complete 1st gen 200X with brake, tripples, forks, and complete wheel and usable tire combo for under $150. Out of that you might need brake pads, tire, dot fluid and rebuild of the legs for $65 at any shop. The trickey thing is the neck which puts you in 2 positions, cut a wasted Xframe, or build one to match. I would think the ole Xer front would handle any punishment that motor could dish out.

The IRS makes it very hard to power slide. The bike wants to roll more than slide. Not that great in the corners as it could be with the solid axle. Amazing in the jumps.

Wouldn't be able to do nearly as tight of slow turns. Remember that one main keys of sharp, slow turns is hikin' up a back tire.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.
