eye to eye on my 84 measured out to 12" with the back tires off of the ground. That bottom mount is not in a very good spot to get a definite measurement. I put the tip of my tape measure on the top of the lower mounting bolt and measured to the top of the top mounting bolt. Hope this helps. Dont forget about the threaded part for the ride adjustment.

I found a really nice aftermarket that's 8.75" eye to eye, but looking to see if they have a 12" one.
