    Info on a Honda 200sx

Hey people, haven't been on in while, I have some questions about a three wheeler that I can pick up relatively cheap. Honda 200sx, white tank, blue seat, kickstart only, DG pipe, plastic almost entirely intact,in nice shape, not sure exactly what year....Is there anywhere I can go to read specifications on this thing? Years produced, engine specs, etc? I've searched the forums and I dont find much about it. It needs a ring job, its wetstacking. It runs great and is pretty nasty, so itll be for me and my buddy mostly, it'd scare the daylights out of my kids who are novice riders, lol.

Thanks for the information. you guys are the only place I look to find anything out anymore. FYI, I did restore my atc110. These hondas are great! It can sit for two or three weeks, and will start on the first pull. The kids fight over it, so I'm in the midst of trying to get a 90 and this 200sx. If only I can pry them from the farmer's cold, stubborn hands....I'll post pix of the atc110 if I have any. Thanks again.

Or a 200s anyways, no such thing known as a 200sx, there is a 250sx though.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

200sx is a quad Honda made in the late 80's it has an engine similiar to whats on a 2nd gen 200x but its auto-clutch electric start 5speed with reverse.http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.p...-1986-1988-trx

I don't think any 200s had blue seat ... maybe the 250sx did. Mine doesn't but it seems to me I did see one that did.

The 1986 250sx had a blue seat but it also had electric start along with the kickstart. He said this had a kickstart only so he has to be talking about a 200x.

Sounds like a 200x. If you search for 200x info, you should find tons of stuff. Honda sold about a gazillion of 'em.

Once again, this is why I ask the pros. The seat was blue and now that I think of it, kind of didnt fit. Might be from a quad, this guy is notorious for buying things from auctions, so who knows what they tinkertoyed together. It had the kickstart on the right hand side, a single headlight, white tank with shrouds. It was dark and I couldnt get close to the neck sticker to get any info. I was more interested in how the engine sounded. I misspoke, I'm not sure if it had electric start or not, but you know thats the first thing to go and the last thing an amateur is going to attempt to fix. I think you guys nailed it. It must be a 250sx, with the wrong seat. The plastics were good, had a headlight guard and clutch reservoir guard too. Adjustable fork shocks...I wish I had kept all my old issues of Three Wheeler Magazine!!!!!!!! I threw them out a few years ago, and yes, I'm an idiot. I'll get some pix and post em. I can pick it up for about $500, which seems cheap, especially after I heard it run. The rings shouldnt be that difficult to do....

Thanx again for all the information, I'll keep you posted.

your rite a top end job is fairly easy if u can follow the manual or have done it before. when you replace piston rings u also want to replace the whole tope end gaskets, and also adding new vavle seals, and cam chain is always a good idea.

    200x

    The 250sx didn't come with shrouds so I'd say you're looking at a 200x.

You got it Tippmann, I think that's it. I may be wrong about the seat, probably got a little Coors Light in my eyes....lol These seem to be pretty nice bikes I guess? Its a Honda, so I'll take one all day long. I was in the market for a Big Red to carry some camping equipment and for more utlitarian uses like pulling a trailer that I'm fabbing up, but this seems too good to pass up. It's just a little more race bike than I need. God I sound like a sissy....once you have kids and a mortgage, you ride ALOT slower, lol.

Here's a question for you-Can I add electric start to this thing?

I was meaning no such thing as a 3 wheeled 200sx, unless you have a serious issue with your quad.

Another option to ID is the sticker on the steering neck behind the headlamp. Unless someone intentionally removed it, should still be readable and have all the 411 you need. Year & model..

All mine are still readable after all theses years
