250r speedometer disagreement

My buddy and I made a little bet over the weekend and I need some proof I won. He thinks since he saw on ebay a 250r with a speedometer, that they came stock. Does anyone have any documentation that they were never stock? Or if I can get enough people to post that they were never stock, maybe he would believe it. He thinks that the speedometer was an option and thats why you dont see many with a speedometer. So if you could make a post and tell him how dumb he is! Thanks

Speedometer and Tachometer were a HondaLine upgrade option only. :-D

So they were an option from honda.

um their is some pics and info on the main website that says the speedos were only a option on the 200X try that and see if he belives

I should probally clear up that this bet is only for the 250r and no other honda.

This link list most if not all the asseccories for all Honda 3 wheelers thru 1985. The 1985 250r is listed and it shows the speedo was a accessory. I don't have a 86 booklet, just the 85.
