    Fishing

Well i am in love with fishing, i like to go freshwater, that is what i am best at, but i am going down to nags head NC next week for 10 days and would like some tips for saltwater fishing, i am not very educated on saltwater since i hardley go by any, so if anyone is good or can give me any tips, much appriciated, also a pier is VERY accessable so i will probably use that.
    Thanks
    Jimmy

The Outer Banks are great fishing, surf fishing is tough, but the piers or a head boat out of Oregon Inlet will spoil you (flounder, spot, croaker, drum, etc), if you have a big enough group you can go offshore for tuna, mahi and marlin, just ask the bait store what they are biting on it changes depending on water temp... even if you don't go offshore you should stop by the docks between 3 and 5 when the fishing boats come in, they have pulled in near record big eye tuna (100's of pounds)

if your going peir fishing make sure u got strong hooks and enough sinkers cuz with it being summer and all the beaches are a little bit rougher with undertoes so theres gonna be strong currents, also try and use live shrimps for mutton snappers they fight HARD for such a small fish.

Another fishin' thread is cool. In Seattle we used to bottom fish with a little aluminum boat right off shore. Those rock cod and flounder freak me out a bit, lol. Course' a 34" N. Pike is a little freaky, they always win the stare down (till' they're fillet'd, lol).

Don't forget to rinse all of your equipment off as soon as you can, the salt will rust it or gum it up. Everything, the reels, pole, not necessarily the lures, but if you want to...

Soft shell "peeler" crabs will bring in croaker as fast as you can reel on a good day, use a two hook bottom rig and you can reel in two at a time...
