Smoking like crazy? Time for a rebuild, probably will cost you around $70 or so to get the cylinder bored out to the next size, and anywhere from $150 to $200 for a complete piston/gasket kit. Could all be done very easily in a day or two. Also don't forget the cam chain and tensioner.

Call around some of the local motorcycle shops, one of them has to have a boring machine. As far as re-assembly, it's fairly straight forward, exactly the opposite of how you dis-assemble the engine. Don't forget to properly torque down the head bolts in about 5-6 rounds- don't torque them all the way down the first time.

You need to have the inside of the cylinder measured BEFORE you purchase a piston size. From there, you will know what size piston you need to get (65.5mm, 66mm, ect. ect.) as well as what you need to have the cylinder bored out to.

Stock bore on the 200x is 65mm, I THINK, not 100% certain. If it is 65mm, then 65.25mm would be the next size up.

okay so i rip the top end off basically where the piston slides in and thats what i get bored and then once the new piston kit and seals and once the engine is bored just throw everything back in...sounds simple! okay thanks so much will this do anything to performance of the engine?

Depends on how clapped out the engine is currently. Fresh top end can really make the engine feel peppy again. With the 200x you will have the cam chain, valves and timing to deal with. Should download a manual if you haven't already.

I recommend buying a wisco set off of dennis kirk they have really good prices and ship it to you within 3 days or if you can't wait next day delivery is avaliable. Just type dennis kirk in google and search by make and model on the left side Hope this helps.

to do the work, you pull the whole motor and put it on the bench. (I hope you do, I did! HA!)
I am in the middle of doing my overhaul now, piston rings bore valves, t chain and tensioners, kickstarter mod. before you take it apart, move your pulsar up and down to see if your cam journals are worn out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF_HZcGUiG8
