I have the correct taillight bracket and lens for my 1981 185s now and I am needing a bulb. I bought all the parts off of ebay and the bulb that came with it was shot. It is a w1141. I bought a 1141LL but I don't think it will work. The stock bulb is supposed to be a 5 watt, the bulb I bought says 18.4w on the box, I just now noticed that. They are the same other than wattage. Will the higher watt bulb just make my headlight dimmer or will it burn up my lighting system? Thanks for any help.

Go to napa and buy a 12v 5w bulb. I did today. The package doesnt say the voltage, but I narrowed it down to 2 by eye. Took them up to the counter and they looked them up and told me one of them was infact 12v 5w.
