    Angry Bearing Problem...

So I got brand new bearings for my rear end, well got it all apart and went to put new bearing and seals in. Well one side goes in perfectly fine, but the other side has some sort of topped in the cam. The bearing goes in abouthalf way and hits some metal ridge, almost as if it takes a special bearing on one side. I was whooping on it for 2 days freezing it and heatin it. But now this is my last conclusion. The part said fits "83-87 atc200x" If anyone has any info on 87 200x rear bearings plz plz plz post or PM me

    ~~thanks, zack

there probably the wrong bearing this happens all the time the 83-85 have different axles and swing arms then the 86-87. on ebay people just say it fit 83 to 87 even tho there different you see it more with pistons tho

All 200X's are a 6007 bearing,it is stamped right on the seal part of the bearing. IF you have the right bearing, and yes, they are the SAME on both sides, you need to carefully examine your carrier,it is aluminum,it must have a ridge in it,carefully sand, polish it. Heating it a LITTLE and oil, grease it, and freezing your bearing OVERNIGHT ,it should fall right in. If that doesn't work,I'd suggest selling me the machine : )

Same both sides, if one went in possibly the other side has a burr or previous damage; Depends how bad someone has let them go throughout it's life. There is no step or shoulder other than the one for the bearing stop which is equivalent to the tube/spacer length.

    Post up some PICS !!!!

Well there is a ridge of some sort, I think it might be remants of the previous bearing. If yall would have saw the last bearing you would have cried. It came out in pieces literaly, I started hearing the grinding one night in the trails and we were so deep into the woods I had no choice but to ride it. But here is some pics, the bearings are 6007.Click image for larger version.

To me that looks like the rest of the bearing. The groove is where the ball bearings ride.

That s your old bearing!!! Their are diff methods,I will put a cpl small beads of weld in a cpl different places,,don't get it too hot! Don't wanna warp your aluminum, after you have a cpl beads to pound on,you also have things so hot they want to move, take your time,it will come out, usually in a cpl pieces. Your carrier doesn't look to be in too good of shape, and def measure your center tube,if it's under spec, replace it,and I know it is. Make sure your bearings are all squared up after getting them in,so there's no side load. good luck!

I got it all takeing care of guys.... I tried teh welding thing and it wasnt work it, so i was like you know what my carrier is damaged anyways i can either take a chance of fixing it or just messing it up more. so i used a plasma cutter to get that left over bearing out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9c2zE...er_profilepage must i say more??
