    1985 tecate 250 bigger motor?

Hi I have a 1985 tecate 250 roller. I want to put a bigger motor in it without welding or notching the frame. Do they make motor mount kits for this? And if so what motor should I put in it ill post pics soon. I do have a professionally done 1 foot extended swingarm but im trying to keep everything as strong as possible. Any ideas. Im open to anything.

well do you want to go with the stock motor or something else like a 500, and to put a 500 in it you will have to weld some mounts

Are you planning on dragging it or what is your overall plan for it? Warsaw is pretty close to me, if you have any stock electronics or other parts you want to get rid of to help fund your project let me know...

Will all the electronics and wiring b long enough with a different motor or do I have to b different stuff and I my plan for it is jus to shut people mouths who want to talk crap about my tecate. I might drag it who knows. I live to max out everything I get my hands on so.

I believe you are going to want the KX500 electronics to go along with the motor, the 250 may/may not work but if it does it will likely not match the optimum power curve

89 and newer is what I have been told are better engines. All water-cooled years will work. Not sure on difference on motor mounts. there are many guys here who have done the swap to chim in.

I doubt the cbr engine would fit in the cradle without some extreme major mods, FYI a 2 stroke 250 is fully capable of turning your tailbone into a plow with a flick of the wrist, and I think you'll find as far as power to weight ratio goes a KX500 would be a much better choice. I guess the question is... are you out to have fun or file an insurance claim?

Here, this will answer your electronics questions:http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...it+interchange. That 250 can be built by Klemm Vintage Cycle http://www.klemmvintage.com/. If Harry Klemm builds it, it will win.
