1980-81 Honda 70 Question

I have a 1980 and a 1981 Honda 70. The 80 doesn't have the on/off lever on top of the gas cap. Is this how it came in 1980? Otherwise looks the same and fits like the 1981 with the lever. Next question is would the 1980 cap work on the 1981 or do the 81's have to be vented through that style cap? Reason for asking is cap is not as snug on my 81 and even bought a new rubber seal, still a little loose so thought of switching them out. The 80 is a project. Thanks

From what I have seen, I *think* that both years should have the on/off vents on the gas caps.

Also, as long as the gas cap fits, and it can let the tank breathe, you should be fine.
