    building up a golf cart!!!

i got it for free the other day. its 36v, but i cant seem to get it to work, i dont know if the batteries are junk or something else..but electric carts are for old people, i have a few ideas....either way it will be lifted lol

1st....leave as is & figure out the problem keeping it running on battery power.

2nd...find a cheap fl250 & stick the motor & rear end setup in the cart.

3rd....get my buddys old parts honda 4x4 quad thats straight axle & make it
4wd with like an old honda atc motor, electric or pull start, reverse, mabe semi auto or something.

4th...find a parts blaster, put the full front end on the cart aarms ect. & the rear end...not sure on a motor, mabe a sled motor or a atc motor.

    i like number 2 & 3 the best.

    found some old speakers

lol & my "tester" 2" lift block...i cant go any higher in the front with out redoing a bunch of stuff..

the bad thing about electric golf carts are if the batterys are junk. i believe it should take 6 batterys and each battery is atleast $60-80. we bought an electroc golf cart for $400 on craigslist claiming it needed new batterys. so we ended up with a little over $950 in it. its nice but electric is the biggest pain in the arse. you are constantly charging them. i recommend making it gas powered. i like your number 3.

i dont remember wich one it it is for sure. but im pretty sure its that one. i know the motor is junk in it. im pretty sure hes going to trade me the 4x4 parts quad for all my stock electric parts for his cart. now ill have to find the right motor. as much as i dont like 4 strokes i think ill be putting one in here. any ideas? id like it to have electric or pull start, reverse, maybe semi auto (not a must)...& i need to figure out how to get the power from the motor to the axles.

Beg to differ. Remove the limiter (AKA governor) and you will wonder when your cart got an afterburner. Did it to my uncles EZ Go. They have factory limiters in them to keep them from going over 18mph, new top speed was right around 40, and the thing can spin its wheels. Put the right batteries in it and it will out accelerate any gas burner cart

ill pass with the electric...i have other things for when i need to go fast....really just building it to mess around with, & if i go 4wd ill take it to the rock crawler meets & what not, use it when i go hunting or troll the camps looking for chicks at the dunes.. having it stay electric well just be worthless for my needs, cant charge it out in the desert i want to gas and go.

if you decide to go with four wheel drive, you should build it up for night time use also (possibly some big lights on the front), put some aggresive tires and stuff like that. i hate the electric golf cart we have. if it gets banged around from driving it seems like something has to go wrong, wires get loose and its to much of a hassle

What are you going to do with the motor/controller?

And go for the 4WD option!!!!!!! Since you sound like you're building it up for desert fun, don't forget to lace the front end with HID's

You can get them from DDM Tuning for like $33 shipped for a 55W HID kit! Shipping takes a while though, well worth it IMO.

K, first off forget the fl250 motor. pick up a something like a 440 snowmobile engine. This cart has an actual differential in it from an older 3-wheeled golf cart, but I'm sure something else could be hooked up.. Once we welded the diff up on this, it went up that hill no problem. That is of course after we reinforced the swingarm
