    83 vs 84 200x swing arms

my friend has an extra 83 swing arm in his shed so i wanted to ask if they interchange with the 84 swingers. the 83 is round tube vs my square tubed 84 but what about the shock mount set up? the reason i ask is im thing of chopping the 83 swinger and extending it about 4" and just swap in my sprockets/brakes/axle/ect.

I think the 83 is pressed steel. the 84 would be easyer to extending because it is made out of square tubing.

Agreed.. An 83 swinger is too weak to extend, not to mention an 84-85 swinger would be easier to extend.

The 83 swingarm doesn't use a shock linkage.

thx, i was looking to make a round tube one, im not a fan of square tube swingers and my original is in good shape and i felt it would be a waste to chop it up.
