    crank wobble?

i have a 84 tecate and it needs a stator and flywheel, i noticed the crank has a very little play "i mean a very very little play"is this a concern? also there are lines in the piston and cylinder , no scraches though what would cause this?and is there a sleeve in the cylinder?
once again thanks for all the help!

The only place a crank can have any play at all is the connecting rod side to side - where the thrust washers are, there is a spec and you use a feeler gauge betwwen the flywheel halves and the big end rod. The rod itself - zero play up and down. The bearings or crank journals themselves - zero play. It wil eventually blow up and cost more money - noone wants to split a case but do it now or possibly lose the whole engine. As for your cylinder with lines? As long as it's in spec as far as piston to cylinder clearance - especially in the center where you can't measure without an inside gauge - you can use it. Who knows what got in there. Good luck.
