What are you looking to build? Full teardown and rebuild? it looks amazing cosmetically already. Looking to do a bore over and just replace all the internals like valves etc?

Carbs an easy clean. Dissasemble, soak in gasoline, blow clean, re assemble. As for the gas tank I would just buy a plastic one really.

I agree, start with the carb. Does it have spark? Clean the carb and fire it up to make sure the tranny is shifting etc. Then you can decide where to go from there.

Intake bolt connecting the intake to the carb? Or bolt connecting the intake to the cylinder? If its the one connecting it to the carb, that happened to me too. I just unscrewed the stud, threaded a longer bolt through and put a nut on the other side.

If its the bolt holding the intake to the cylinder, you will probably need to re-tap it to a larger size. But there may be some old-school trick that I don't know about..

Drill through the broken section of bolt (smaller diameter than bolt) the heat up cylinder with a small torch (propane will work) then use an extractor to grab the bolt and turn it out. Extractors can be bought pretty cheap.
