    83 honda 185s CDI Plz Help. :(

    Hello Ounce again, No worries, This is Not my 250sx.

    Just sold a buddie my 185s, we tore the Top end down, to Inspect and clean, Bought new rings Placed in it,
    Now when i Time it all up and tight Up the 2 8mm Bolts for the cdi, When i tighted them down Nice and snug my Flywheel just will not spin, Spins in revers with tension, But will not go forword at all, Its liek it gets stuck when i tighted down the cdi,
    It i Loosen The 8mm bolts, Untill their finger tight, The flywheel moves Fine, Just like it should,

    I am lost here, The trike ran fine before, What would cause the flywheel to Be really hard Or unmovable When my cdi unit bolts are tight?
    Any ideas will help greatly, Manual says nothing about this, Neither Google

    Just throwing this out there ... perhaps the cam chain isn't on just right and its getting pinched when u tighten the cdi, so your flywheel cant turn because the cam is holding it up? Not really sure, i just finished rebuilding my 185s engine and didnt have any major problems

    Ok, Yea i have no idea, Chain looks to be on, I tried to Adjust as much as i could while it was off, No idea, I am stuck. No reason why a have of a MM would Pinch it

    Just trying to be helpful since you helped with my 185s question, is there any way to put a cdi on backwards ? You did say it will turn backwards, but not the right way, then again my engine would turn backwards when i manually turned the flywheel so that dosnt mean too much, have you tried pulling off the flywheel cover and seeing if theres anything weird in there ? you tore down your top end so it could be a lot of things... if u didnt seal and torque the head cover maybe check the cam lobes, thats about all i can think of that real simple without having to pull off all sorts of stuff to recheck

    Nope i think i got it, The dude didnt get another Gasket for it, I am thinking that is what it is, I told him to get a gasket and then let me know..
