    200x vs 250r forks

well i found out the hard way after polishing my 200x lower triple tree which i planned on putting my 84 250r shocks into. turns out, they are a different damn diameter. crap! has anyone ever been able to open up the 200x triple to fit the larger fork tube??

    thanks in advance

well after a little prying and such, its a no go. if they were to fit the bolts wouldnt thread in because of the angle.

Old racers trick from the 80's. Running 83-84 forks on an 83-85 200X. Need to bore triple clamps from 33 to 35mm.

Have a ball getting them bored.... Triple clamps are not easy to hold due to there "cast" design.... Set up time isn't cheap, the boring operation is chicken.....

I'd find a way to use the R triple clamps and make my own steering stop.

Those forks are 35MM (same size as...) which fit right in the 85/86 350X triple clamps if that helps (No rake in the 350X triples). Your stock forks are 33MM and boring them is a mere .040 wall thickness, yet nothing easy.

Boring your triples weakens them/thins them, and isn't easy or cheap unless you have machinist friends. How they match that angle and do them inexpensively is beyond my comprehension.....

But, you also have to check your rake issues also. IDK what the
