    200x question

Can you put air in the forks through the valves on top to stiffen them up?

I suppose you could probably put a pound or two in them, but the valves are meant to equalize the pressure inside the tubes with the outside air. Why not just put in a little heavier oil in them?

If you wanna blow out your seals then yes but the shreader valves are to equalize built up air pressure that comes from riding

The service manual states that they can be pressurized up to 10 psi, but be sure to use only a manual air pump (like a bicycle tire pump), or you'll blow the seals.

Like rapidrick said just go to a heavier oil and a maybe a 1" or 2" PVC spacer and you'll be much happier and you won't blow any seals

Gotta pull the forks off and begin the dis-assembly. While you're at it, you're going to want to pickup new seals and gaskets

heck if you are going to have to tear the forks apart, you might as well try 5 pounds of air in them to see if you are going to like stiffer forks or not. What is the worst thats going to happen, you blow the seal and have to replace them any ways?
