Thoughts, why do you think it won't go into gear and how easy of a fix do you think it would be?This honda ATC 200 still runs great but it wont shift into gear. This machine will be great for parts. I put new piston rings and clean to whole top end of the motor 5 months ago .Put new tire on Dirt Dog 25X12X9. Also cleaned the carburetor with a ultrasonic carb cleaner.

Parts are a dime a dozen for those...if you feel comfortable doing the work yourself, should be a cheap fix..the new top end is a plus...makes you wonder why he won't fix the tranny himself though.

if i'm lucky enough to get it (Doubt it), Could it be fixed with the engine in the frame or would the engine need to be removed?

If it's just the clutches or shifter, you can leave it in, but if it's with the transmission, you'll need to split the case.

sounds like he is an inexperianced shadetree mechanic that did the rings and who knows what he put together wrong to make it not shift. but I would be willing to bet he didnt have the engine out of the frame and he had more apart than he could handle and just put something in wrong. I dont think he woulda done top end on a trike that didnt shift
