will a 85 yz250 reed cage and carb boot bolt to tri z cylind

ive got a bunch of 85 yz 250 parts from my last dirt bike i had an di was wondering if the intake boot and reed cage set up off the yz 250 would work on the tri z engine because they sell rad valves for the yz 250 but not the tri z and also reed spacers and id like to put the yz intake on so i could use those after market parts and see those power gains.
cause the only thing i see for the tri z is boysen power reeds.

No, I dont think the 85 would work, but I think there is a company that makes an aftermarket reed valve for the tri-z (I just cant remember who it is though) Ill ask around and see what I come up with.

Go with the standard Boysen Power Reeds. Youll find that while reed spacers move the powerband on some models, according to some test data I read, but cant locate, spacers cant even equal the stock setup on the Z. You aslo dont want to change the intake, because you need the fitting for the boost bottle.

No, the intake boot/reed cage from a 85 YZ250 will not work on the Z. The intake on the the cylinder of the YZ is half again as big as the Z one.
