    1985 Tecate engine break in?

So I have a manual ordered and it should be here by the end of this week, but I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the break in procedure so I could get started on it. Any help would be great

Lots of methods. Some say to let it idle for half an hour, then let it cool completely, then repeat once more then give er hell.

I like to let it idle for half an hour, then let it cool, then idle for half hour, then cool, then gently ride for 10 minutes, then progressively get harder and harder on the throttle.

I have an oem 84-85 Tecate service manual and the only thing it says pertaining to break in is:

    "NOTE"
Whenever the piston or cylinder has been replaced with a new one, the motorcycle must be broken in the same as with a new machine.

I don't have an owners manual, but I assume that is where the break in information is.
    Rides:
1986 ATC250R (sectional pipe and Klemm Research silencer)
1986 ATC250R (Desert Bike, WAX-ON seat, Dual Cibie lights, Steering Stabilizer)
1979 ATC110 (Bandito frame and forks, Turbo wheels, disc braked)
    1982 ATC70 (Lifan manual 125)
    1987 LT80 (piped, widened)

thats about what I do also, although instead of a half hour I probably do about 10 or 15 minutes until she gets good and hot. something like that...

So he should ignore the manufacturers suggestion? I'd think they would know how to break in their engines, seeing as how they made them....

Can someone post the link to the oscarmayeratcmanuals.org or .com site, it was started by a member here and it goes over everything that you need to know about engine break in and storage and there's also a handful of atc manuals on there.
