Picked up my 2nd trike last week. Rode it before purchase. Fired on 2nd kick, but would not idle. Rode it enough to make sure all gears worked. Tore it apart last weekend. Good news....All bearings were replaced, new swingarm bolt. Bad news front forks were all bent, front tire shot, tank is heavily rusted. All ready bought new fork and new tire will be here soon.
Reassembled what I could to see if I fixed the idle issue. Thru several hard kicks it did fire, but same issue.. Cant seem to hold idle. And really doesn't sound right either. Lots of spitting and backfiring coming from tail pipe. Did compression check today and read 150
Can anybody steer me in the right direction?

Check your timing, and also check your jetting.

If it's back firing a lot u could have an exhaust leak. Maybe the gaskets where the head pipe meets the head.

Probably found my problem. Tore the carb apart again. Pilot screw missing couple internal parts that go with it. I ended up buying carb kit. Will put in next week when comes in.
