    HAHAHA...so true!

It does look funny in the pics but yes the teeth point towards the back.

I found out Emerson is the company who built my saw. They built many saws for different places like Sears and others. They even made Craftsman tool when they were being made here in the U.S.A....when they were built right!

I found a guy who bought his RIDGID saw brand new and it looks just like mine but his is the next bigger size. He said his was bought in the mid 70s and it was $1200 back then! These were not cheap saws buy any means it seems. The Sears saw Emerson made was the same as mine but the stand was real cheap. It only had one front leg (think 3 wheeler) and the rear legs just look weaker then mine, and it had no tray like mine has. So I guess each place that Emerson made saws for had different bases, some better then others.

Thats what I found out last night.......tonight I got the belt guard mounted and the decal installed and I mounted the table I made for it for when I stand it up.

I can leave the table mounted and still use the band saw hoizonialy, which is handy.

    Skoal can for scale.

Now I'm calling it done as far as need to do things. I'd still like to add a blade brush to it to clean chips off the blade so the wheels and rollers don't get fouled...we'll see.

I like the permanent table too. I don't want to deal with a table that I'd have to mount then remove all the time.

I bet it works as a gard to. I find with mine if I am cutting little pieces (an inch or less) that it goes right into the bearing that guides the blade and james everthing up.

You know what, I think your right about it acting like a guard. I got to use it a good bit today and every time I'd cut off a little piece it would fly back into the table. When I seen what was happening I thought '' wow, I'm glade that tabe is on there'' ....lol

I can't believe that you haven't rigged up a little pump that directs cutting fluid on the area that you are cutting. All our saws here at work have them.

I did think about that but it's big enough already and the blade hardly gets warm after a 10 minute cut. I'm starting to not want to add a flood system.

    The table?

It works perfect, just big enough to work nice and still fits when it's cutting horizontaly.

I made some giant jaws for my saw tonight.

I got tired of not being able to cut small lengths in my saw because the jaws were so far away from the blade. Now I could cut something thats 1/2'' long in half!

The old jaws were 2 1/2'' angle that is 1/4'' thick, the new jaws are 3 1/2'' angle thats 1/2'' thick.....I doubt I'll bend them...lol
