Where can I find a metric steel BUNG?

I've been following the forums on here for a while but never posted anything till now. I am doing a full restore on my 85 atc 250r and Im looking for an uncommon part. the front left bottom motor mount on the 85 are bolted into a threaded bung welded into the frame. I had to cut and drill one of mine out b/c I had a broken drill bit in it. I have searched the web a lot looking for a way to replace it. From what I have found it appears to be a "Tophat threaded bung" or "Tophat blind threaded bung" I have only been able to find American thread sizes on the web. Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these Bungs in metric 8x1.25 thread?

It might be easier to make one, or find someone to make one for you. Another thought: You might be able to use an SAE one, and then drill/retap for the desired metric thread size.

hey, someone on the forum may have a trashed frame with the part you need on it.
have them cut it off for you.
    post some pictures.

I actually have a second frame that I could cut the part out of but I was hoping to be able to just buy a new one. Unfortunately I don't have a lathe and do not know anyone with one. It seems like such a simple little part that I should be able to buy. Anyone who does fabrication work must have to buy these things, right?

I can machine you a new one if you give me the measurements of what you want made. I'm 99% sure that the threaded hole is 8mm x 1.25 so I'd just need the length and diameter.

    PM me if your interested.
