    85 tecate clutch problem

when I got this trike the clutch was so bably worn it would barely move in first gear. so I put in new fiber plates and springs. that got it moving but not right. when engaging the clutch it was kinda jerky and seemed to still slip in higher gears. also the adjuster on the cable had to be brought all the way in and adjuster on perch is almost all the way in to get the cable adjusted. the plates are going in the proper direction, the metal plates measure within spec, the pressure plate is not worn. just doesn't make any sense to me. has anyone had a similar problem?

pre soaked in honda racing 2 cycle gear lube. I didnt rough up the steel plates though. almost seems like the push rod is too long or something.
