I have a couple 450R axles. Stock and aftermarket so I am just wondering if they slide into the '86 250R carrier. Anyone try this yet?

the 450ER axle will fit the 250R but you will have to use the 250R sprocket hub and brake rotor hub. i could be wrong but i think the sleeve on the axle nut is shorter on the 250R? if it is, you may have to use the 450R sleeve because the c clip groove may be farther away. you will have to look at that part when you put it together and use the one that fits best. you may also have to use the 450 wheel hubs. i can't remember if the 250R used the short ones or the long ones.

Yes, they are pressed on and not easy to get off with out a large press. In order to get them off you have to press them farther on, and then remove the retainer clip, and then press off.

I have one in my 86 R - I just trimmed some stock off of the outside of the carrier on the tighten side. Fits perfect with the 450R sprocket hub. Works MINT!

Eric, Nope - lines up perfect - the difference is the bit of offset in the carrier - kinda like the whole 86 carrier in an 85 250X.
