    200M Ideling Issues, vibrating etc etc etc...love new toys!

    Ok, I purchased a 200M and its pretty rough but it rides. I have a few issues.

    - The current problem I have is that it doesn't want to idle until I ride it around for five minutes. After I ride it around a bit it seems to idle fine. Would this be a carb issue or should I check the valve clearance?

    - One of the exhaust studs is broken and its a little loud but it also sounds like a sewing machine. I have never owned one before so I have no clue what it suppose to sound like, lol.

    - The machine vibrates pretty hard, the guy I bought it from replaced the rear axle bearings but I noticed that it doesn't have a front engine mounting bracket and the rear center engine mounting bolt is missing. How many mounts does a 200m have? Is this why I'm vibrating so badly or would it be something else?

    - Dumb question but I don't have a rear hand brake lever or foot brake, do both of these operate the rear brake?

    I believe there should be 4 mounting points for the motor. 2 long bolts at the back of the motor, 1 on top of the cylinder head, and the front mount with 2 bolts through the motor and 2 through the frame. Making sure those are all there should help.

    My checklist when I first pick up any ATV/ATC (unless its already mint running), is pretty much to clean the carb, put a new spark plug in, adjust the valves, and change the oil. That pretty much covers a lot of small stuff that could be wrong with it.

    Malibulvr, it's just my opinion and i'm no expert, but offhand i'd say....

    1. sounds like a carb issue.

    2. more than likely the valves are giving you the "sewing machine" sound, but if the sound is coming from below the piston, possibly the crank or something.

    3. Gearhead covered this one IMO.

    4. yes the left hand lever and foot lever both operate the rear brake.

    I'm kicking around just buying a carb from Zoom Zoom on Ebay. I read some things about them on here and I think it may be cheaper and less time consuming then buying a kit and rebuilding mine. Hopefully I can get to working on it this weekend, pull the carb off, change the oil and look at the valves.
    I cooked my damn battery last week, not sure if it was me or my son but somehow my charger got changed from 2amp to 50amp. I came home to find the pos lead of my battery charger melted. Hopefully I didn't kill any components that are upstream of the battery because it was still hooked to the wheeler. I need a new battery because this one will not take much of a charge anymore. Who makes an inexpensive battery that isn't junk? I noticed that everyone that I look at says maintenance free, are these any good?
