Every machine, everywhere, comes from IT"S factory with one. Cars, trucks,,bikes and atv's. It goes to the dealer w the new machine, and is SUpposed to be turned into the respective state for titling. Yours was never titled, hence you have the original CO,,it's called.

If you read above every vehicle, trailer or anything else that requires registering comes with one. they used to come in the crate with the machines. pretty sure they stopped doing that for obvious reasons.

A 'certificate of ownership' is a legal document the manufacturer issues to supply with the vehicle certifying it's serial number classification.

Take this document and the bill of sale to the secretary of state office (or your states equivalent) and they will issue a title assigning the vehicle to you..

I have had to do it a few times in Michigan to title 3wheelers I bought that haven't ever been titled..

oh, thanks, that's what i was wondering...so do you need to register trikes? like get the little stickers for them? is it necessary and are there any benefits?

It all depends on what the laws in your state are. Here in NY we are suppose to register them and get insurance whether its on our own property or not.

One of those isn't common to get with a trike or any older atv for that matter. I'd frame it as a piece of history. I've run across a couple of them, but not with their respective unit attached. To me it's rare and i wouldn't dare turn it into the dmv.
