New Honda 350x owner Couple of questions please help.

Hey guys new here but im a atv freak.
got a couple of questions for you guys who know these machines well. First the back right wheel is wobbling, is there anyway I can be lucky and it just be the hub or is it the axle? The axle looks good but you never know.

My next question is in switching in between 3,4,5 gears the clutch is not engaging like it should when I let off the clutch handle. Can this be adjusted or is the clutch going to need some work?

Appreciate all the info you can give me.

The clutch cable has some adjustment. Sounds like it might be to short and not letting the clutch engage completely. The hubs can be tightened up. Even if it is axle bearings i believe there only about 30$ or atleast they were for my 200.

sounds like u need to do change the clutches. the clutch basket might be grooved out and not letting it engage into the gears because the plates r stuck in the worn grooves.

with the wobble it could be your axle or rim also. jack it up so the wheels r off the ground and spin it. do this with the rear tires on and off. u should be able to figure out whats bent. if it is the axle u will go through rear axle bearings much faster having that wobble.

Clutch on a 350x is a cake walk..with a few helpful suggestions from 'Dirtcrasher' the resident old salt, I changed mine in about 1.5 hours.

Clutch disc set, side cover gasket, 27mm socket and an impact gun..plus usual hand tools and you can get that done. Don't forget to change your oil once you are done to flush an dirt out of the galleries after you open it up..

Here is a link to the manuals: http://www.oscarmayer.net/atc/manuals/

Use the instructions in the clutch replacement, but when you get to the part about the 'special tool' to lock the clutch basket this is where the 27mm socket and impact come in. Just hold the basket with your hand and unwind the securing nut with an impact gun...easy peasy! DC's suggestion and it worked great for me!!

As far as your right rear wheel, just remove the cotter pin and see if tightening a bit and replace the cotter..

The problem is at lower speeds, your engine RPMs match your tire speed. Once you hit the higher gears and lay on the throttle, the engine RPM's raise faster than the tires; the weak leak between them is the clutch.

I have always run Barnett or OEM parts. with gaskets and oil you may be looking at 150$ but you won't touch it again if you change your oil. I always file any slight grooves from the basket but it is not the simplest thing to do although it may seem to be. You must stay flat and in line with the opposing side. It takes time and patience.....

Soak the plates for an hour and don't put the new oil filter in backwards and your good

haha yeah lucky the oil filters I have, show the outside label.
I just found the rear right hub is bad so that was the problem with the wobble.
As far as the clutching, I changed the oil and it was pretty bad, I know that would probably not fix the problem. As far as work like that on a scale of 1-10 im about a 3, so I may just buy a clutch kit and get it installed, chances are they have been used up quite a bit.
Thank you guys for the help and if there are any other tips or common problems you can think of please let me know, I want this baby to run good!
