it is called a "base gasket" you can order one from www.bikebandit.com , or a dealer..........to install the base gasket you have to remove the cylinder off from the piston, remove the exhaust so you can take the cylinder off, and take the carb off so you can removed the cylinder......basically its just removing everything that is bolted to the cylinder, taking the cylinder off, and the gasket goes where the cylinder bolts to the base

well, if your base gasket is bad, your other gaskets are probly due for a change also, if i was you i would buy a whole new top-end gasket kit

not really, just pull the cylinder straight off, and dont turn it, dont force it either, if it gets jammed or soemthing, put it back on and try again, if you force something you could mess up your piston rings, also when re-installing make sure your rings are in line up with the ring stops, and you put the cylinder on straight and dont spin it

well i just order new top end gasket set from dennis kirk. When i put it back together how tight should the bolts be on the cylinder?

for mine, i just tighten them till they are good and tight, but not tight enough to strip them, i know some people use a torque wrench to get the nuts to a specified tightness, i have never done this, and have never had any problems, although somone may have the torque settings for you, i dont... and make sure when you are taking off and putting on the head/cylinder you tighten/loosen the nuts in a criss-cross patern so that you dont warp the parts, and also, use a knife to scrape off all the old gasket if there is any residue left on parts from the gaskets
Give me no lip and I tell you no lie.
