The brutality of nature! We'll set up another soon!

Just walked in the door now...I'm in pain, but alright....x-rays showed no broken hand, abdominal ultrasound looked good, but they did make it a priority to get a catscan shortly thereafter, which thankfully showed no internal bleeding, just a bruised kidney. Urine was yellow. having health insurance...priceless, wearing a helmet, even more so. Carnage pics later in the week, bike's gonna sit on the trailer for the better part of a week. Thanks to all the guys. I hadn't stopped moving yet and seemed like all the machines were there with engines stopped. Also thanks to Craig for breaking away from what he was doing to come out and give a lift back to the car and Dan for dealing with the wreckage....even the grate I brought got it's clock cleaned. Other than that, A pretty cool ride I must say.

I went with Fabio to an estate sale and we both scored a TON of tools.
We both wondered how cold it would be in NH and glad we didn't go. I need anther 6 weeks anyhow........

heres a shot to give you an idea of Daves trajectory! Appears that when he got to the top of the berm there was no path out, the large chunks of what looked like soft sand where frozen solid sending dave air born, you can see where his front tire landed, rears never hit the ground untill the bottom of the hill!!

Fabs, It was -4 going over the mountain in Vermont, 8 or 9 at the pisgah lot! Turned out nice though, low 20's! Only cold stretch was first heading in when your hauling ass and fresh!

Anthony, that's not me....I'll be back at it. What have you got left for OEM forks?
I may call him...a longer swinger would be nice.
Nice pictures Rory...I didn't think that single tire track was me but I guess it was. I carried too much speed to make the hard right required to 'find the door' and knew it just before rounding the top. I knew the left rear was off the ground, but not both. I was on the right side of the bike and it seemed like a 2-wheeled easy-over. I was too slow to turn into it, I remember the front tire biting in hard at the bottom of the hill and thought that's what sent me over, but the machine at that point was standing on it's front tire, if not further up hill. So the machine went end-over, the grab bar and corner of the plastics catching the helmet. I remember the chin guard driving into the sand but throughout all of that rotation and eventual impact, my head was the most comfortable part of my bodyI was only dimly aware of the force that was on that helmet. Grab bar was not bent beforehand.
As usual, the handlebar mounted gopro's battery died about 20 minutes prior to this so no video footage was captured.

Great day guys! i'm beat up. I gotta get into shape. Kevin and I had a blast. thanks for putting up with the temperamental x. thats on me, not on kevin. i'll get her fixed up. rory, those pics came out great! that buck was awesome. someone will claim that rack for sure. Anthony, it was good to meet you. thanks for all the bump starts. glad you're doing well, dave. you're a lucky guy. that was one hell of an impact. you didn't quite get the speed or style points that dirtcrasher had on his hiccup, but that machine came down and bit you pretty good. we did a post meal inspection of the crash, and the consensus was that you had only the front donut on the ground during your descent. i didn't think that initially, but the tracks don't lie. it was an aggressive move for sure. craig, you're a good man coming to the rescue. to bad you didnt make the ride. i think our record is like 1 for 6 on riding together when both of us show up. crazy. you're starting to give me a complex!! anyway, i'm getting my gear in order today. the 85 hates the slop so i gotta drain the diff and clean the breaks, etc. etc. i'll post pics soon.
