if you have your 4 snows mounted up on spare rims, i would try em out! only 8 nuts!! either way i wont be running stockers, the one is flat, and they are hurting for tread! I have a few options.

Just to let you guys know, my truck has developed a short somewhere. I've been keeping my eye on it all week, but it's not gotten any better. I pull it in my shop first thing in the morning and take a peek at it, but usually it's fine while I look at it. Then I pull it out and park it for the day and it'll be doing it again. Seems it's trying to hide on me. I've pulled it in this morning and I've got the multi meter out trying to track it. Of course it's not doing it now though. Yesterday I went to leave work at the end of the day and I needed a jump. It's driving me up the facking wall and I'm assaulting it with everything I have right now. I've really not made any progress yet. This could affect whether or not I make this ride.

Ya, I wish it were just that simple.
I've got a draw of .27 amps, plus or minus depending on what's going haywire at that particular moment. There are 3 fuses under the dash that are involved and 1 under the hood. I'm going to pull it in the shop tonight after work and see what I can do but if I can't do anything it's got an appointment at the shop tomorrow morning.

I know whats its like tryin to chase down gremlins. I had a 97 f150 that i, nor any of my friends could locate the intermittant draw. It was a pos work truck, so it got a master switch mounted to the wheel-well and problem solved. I realize that isnt something your gonna want to do, but i gotta say, it did work well!
For random shorts like this one sometimes if you mist the engine compartment in the dark you can see an arc where the short is. Done it on my boat a few times.
But the other things is a 0.27A draw would not kill that batter in 12 hours. I would guestimate that battery has at least a 80-90 amp hour rating. 24hours x0.27 amps draw is only 6.5 amp hours of draw. Not even enough to notice. You would need a couple of amp draw to kill that battery in 12 hours like 8 or 10 amps. have the battery load tested to start may just be a bad battery or a low cell

It's just been one of those weeks boys. Every day has been a struggle this week. I've tried not to let it get to me and the 'ol lady has been a big help, but I'm pretty close to being defeated here.
This morning .27 was the average loss I was having, but it was spiking here and there. As the day went on, the more work I put into the truck the worse it got. At one point the parasitic loss was over 7 volts. My A-pillar gauges stopped working, my windows wouldn't go down at one point, and the wipers even came on by themselves more than once. I dropped the truck off at a shop after work, so there is a glimmer of hope. If he can figure it out in the morning, we'll be OK. I don't have high hopes though. I had to pull 4 fuses before I got to an acceptable amount of loss. I unhooked my air compressor, my wiring harness for the trailer and the camper, and even the radio. Nothing helped. By the way, most of the problems I'm having are with the ignition off and no key in it.
Dan your suggestion with the spray is a very good one. That's the oldest trick in the book and I would have loved to try it, but I forgot all about it. To make a bad day worse, I had to get a ride 3 towns over to get my spare vehicle which was supposed to have the keys in it. The keys were not in the vehicle and my girlfriend's friend's mom was running around like a maniac looking for them. She's an absolute looney-bin and I almost strangled her. Then to boot, I pull in my driveway and I've got a stuck caliper, so now my backup vehicle is falling apart as well.
Boys, if you all pray tonight, there may be hope. Other than that, Steve and I may be up Shite Creek on this one.
