what have you used to ship a trike?

my shipping "hook up" has fallen through.

Quotes from other shippers have been $700-1200?!?! I don't know what they are smoking, but these folks are definately HIGH. UPS wouldn't charge that much for a 300# object, why the hell does a trucking company think they can, and still stay in business?

Hmmm, looks like I might have to bite the bullet and do a 2800 mile round trip in one weekend.

I shipped a Tri-Zinger in 2 boxes to Smokinwrench ( 800 or so miles ) via UPS for $70. While it might be a pain to break a trike down for shipping, the savings might make it worth it.

you know what size box they used? their website lists their motorcycle shipping boxes (small, med, large) but they all say only 44" wide. thats almost as wide as a rear axle.

Or do they also have ATC size boxes?

Allied Van Lines will pick up, pallet and haul a whole bike. They brought a Triumph street bike 1136 mi. for 525. They wanted 350 to ship the t-3 from north Il to south Al. You don't have to crate the bike either.
    Trikes: Cagiva 200, 85? Tiger 250,(2)84 200x's , (3)86 200x's, 87 200x, (5)85 350x's, (2)86 350x's, (2)85 250r's, 86 Tecate, (3) 85 250sx's Restoring: 83 200x, 86 250sx. Too many utility trikes to list.

I dont know....I just did it on their site just to get an idea of what it would cost if I bought 86 200X's (Xowner's) 200X.

I think the width can only be 44" if you package it yourself.

You can also use one of their steel containers here... https://www.forwardair.com/prepaid/MCmainpage.jsp

If you pull the rear wheels off, then you should beable to squeeze a trike in one of their boxes. Dont know though if you drop the bike off, and they package it up, or if they let you monkey w/ it before and then box it up.

Also, the closest Forward Air place to John is in Toledo (unless detroit of chicago are closer) either way it's a long haul.
