    15tooth front sproket??

Well I was looking for a new front sproket and I was stumpled across the question what size front sproket?? I was seeing 14tooth and 12tooth Well I dont want to lose the gearing I have now becuase I love it. got some peppy torque and some speed when I need to get it!!! So I went outside to determine the size of my front sproket, well it came to my attention I had a 15th front sproket!! WTH!! I counted it about 10 times to make sure I wasnt just miss counting. So Where can I get me a 15 tooth front sproket for a 86-87 200x?

    Thanks, Zack

******************LOL im a newb!! its sprocket!! haha just now figured out how to spell it!!******************

well that website dosent work no more, says I cant order untill the new site is back up or something along them lines. I might have to suck it up and grab a 14tooth front sprocket. How much of a loss are we looking at? will I gain or lose bottom end, Im also going to do some more research on the 250r sprocket.

You will gain acceleration and lose top speed.

I would try and just call them.

Im pretty new to this site, so I hope Im replying to this question the right way. I just called Sprocket Specialists at 800-782-8200. I asked about getting a custom size front sprocket for my 86 350X. The lady said they could make me a 11 tooth and it would be made from steel and cost 24.99. I also asked about a custom made rear sprocket for my 350X. She said they could go down to 34 teeth (40 teeth is stock as I understand). The cost would be 59.99 and those are made from aluminum. The price would change if they went over 45 teeth, I didnt get that price. I have been thinking that I want to go smaller in the front because Im going to put 12" diameter wheels on the back with a little larger tire and all of this will be adding weight and I didnt want this to bog down my 350X. Is this corect thinking ALSO, would I be better off going with a smaller sprocket in the back for a little more ground clearance and a little more room betwen my factory skid plat and the sporcket?? I know if I did this I would need to go with a 13 or 14 tooth sprocket in the front. AND, is it common and OK to have a steel sprocket up front and aluminum on the back? Will they wear equally? Will it matter either way? ANY THOUGHTS GUYS??? Sorry for so many questions at once. thanks.....

You really should have started your own thread to ask all of these questions.

You're throwing a lot of different scenarios around here, it's kind of tricky to understand what you're trying to accomplish. You said you're putting 12" rims on it, but you didn't say the tire size. The 350X came with 22's stock, so if you're going with bigger tires than that (I personally hope you're not) then re-gear accordingly.

I don't think there are any issues with running a combination of aluminum and steel sprockets.

thanks for jacking my thread!! but It wont matter if you have a steel and aluminum one. Also like fabio said are you putting bigger then 22's on it??? If you are PLEASE DONT!!! its not made for what ever you plan on doing with it with them big of tires. Also you can just go to trikeslvania and post a "new thread" instead of jacking mine, or anyone elses in the future

Sorry About jacking Your Thread three_wheelin45, Still trying to figure out what Im suspose to do on here. Yes, I was thinking of puttin 12x8 wheels on the rear, 2-6 offset (the 2" would be to the inside). I had planned on running 24x11-12 tires (24" tall, 11" wide on a 12" rim), Swamp Fox. I dont plan to do alot of "jumping" with my 350X. Just alot of trail riding, rocks, hills etc. Why do you and fabiodriven say not to do this?? I would be changing my sprockets to compensate for this larger wheel/tire combo. Thanks and SORRY for jacking your thread.....

It's going to look silly (matter of opinion, but most will agree with me) and handle worse than it already did with 22" balloons. Most guys switch to 20" tires for more modern looks and handling. The 350X is a sport trike, no place for 24" tires. To each their own I suppose though.
