    Removing Baked On Decal Adhesive?

    Just wondering if anyone has anything from their bag of tricks that will work to remove decal adhesive from a plastic? I'm giving a one over to my 86 225dr and tried all the usual stuff (goo gone ect) with almost zero luck. Machine has spend a good amount of time sitting out in the sun with only the decal adhesive left to bake on....

    mineral spirits, wd-40, try using a hair dryer to soften up the adhesive....

    I have heard brake fluid is good for removing paint from tanks and Clarke says that it is safe for their tanks.

    Acetone will dilute that goo like a few of the previously mentioned chemicals , but WAY better. First try to rub the old adhesive into a ball without any chemical. It should clump to itself and make a tiny ball (sometimes if malleable). If not, thin out the old hard adhesive a bit with acetone and try again to rub it into a ball. If you dilute it too much, It'll just smear all over and require a lot more work (wiping)
    Acetone is kinda harsh, but shouldn't hurt plastic at all. I don't recommend use on painted surfaces. Maybe wear some gloves and breath deep....(LOL) Ahhh, nice and fresh! Kidding~ VERY FLAMMABLE
