If he was smart, he would do it when she isnt home then claim ignorance when the chicken tastes like oil. This is why I have a wall oven in my garage. An alternative is to buy a small countertop oven for less than 50 bucks.

For the pinion bearing, freeze the pinion shaft and heat the bearing. It will drop right on to the shaft then freeze the pinion shaft with the bearing on it. Heat the case to install the pinion shaft and bearing. Its a little time consuming but I use this method for hassle free bearing installation.
thats some pretty good advice. we will be working on it tomorrow night so we will see how it goes

I have tried applying MAPP gas heat and it didn't have the same effect. Heating the entire part in the oven workes very well. I now use this method for installing most bearings. SX axle tube, front wheel hub, tranny, crank, rear carrier etc..... Most bearings stay in place with whats called an interferrance fit meaning the bearing is a CH larger than the hole. Heating the part expands the bearing hole and freezing the bearing shrinks the bearing and in most cases allows the bearing to drop in to the hole with little or no effort. All you have to do is wait till the part cools off. I was putting bearings in to a 250R case and I dropped the bearings in and flipped the case over and all the bearings fell out. This is also a great way to install timing chain gear on the crank for the 185/200 series motors.

well the bearing is in the freezer for the night. we finally got the needle bearing out after 4 nights of working with it. we ended up fracturing the case in the process. im so fed up with the rebuild i dont even care anymore so it will be getting jbweld tomorrow and everything reinstalled. i also plan on NEVER rebuilding another one....this has been over two weeks of hell

Not a problem. PM me your address. I'll send it USPS flat rate so 11.20 for shipping. I'll put my return address in the box. Would you like the case powder coated? Right now its completely stripped (bead blasted). I PC my own stuff.
