250r pipe interchangeability

I've been looking around here and have found that the 81-82, 83-84, 85-86 pipes are all different and that the 81-82 pipe will not work on the 83-84 at all. But is it possible to get the 85-86 expansion chamber to work on the 83-84 250r?
I'm sure it wouldn't bolt right in but does it fit within the frame/plastics?

I'd say you would have better luck getting the 81/82 pipe to fit since it comes out the left side of the bike and the 85/86 comes out the right side...
