85? Looks like a 200s head and valve cover to me. I have rebuilt the top end on every bike I have. Best advice I can give is dont be cheap or you will pay for it in the long run. Looks like a good solid bike for $200. Great buy!

The S head is fine on there. Do not order a standerd rebuild kit until after you get your enigne apart you don't know what has been done to it. It could have already been bored over.

I would have stolen an old ladies purse to pick that up.
I recommend going with a 200x head (or are 185's the same head and valves?) and also throwing in a stock 200x cam or an 85? xr200 cam (the xr200 cams have more "pep" than stock 200x cams and are relatively cheap and plentiful)
I also recommend buying a service manual Clymer makes a good manual if you dont want to pay more for a genuine Honda 83-85 200x reprinted manual.
I would bore the top end to the next lowest bore posible (the top of the piston will have the current piston bore size) Buy a new piston and top end gasket set (I recommend Wiseco) You should prob go with a stock compression piston they are 8to1 or 9to1 not sure. A high compression piston may bring about bottom end problem you didnt know you had, I also recommend a new timing chain and possibly valve/valve spring replacement. When you do get your new piston, take it to a reputable shop along with your jug (cylinder)

Never have a jug bored before the shop has the piston to measure it. Example even though lets say you order a 0.40 over piston, the jug may not need a 0.40 over bore. It may need a very minute change in boring size because even though you have a 0.40 over piston it may be off by a thousandth of an inch, not all pistons are exactly the same size even though they are labeled so.Always get your piston first then take the piston and jug to be bored, they will measure things and make sure it is an appropriate bore job. Last time I checked boring and honing will cast about $85.P.S. get a ring compressor too, two stoke rings you can slide into the cylinder by hand fourstrokes you cannot. Thant 200x being aircooled, you will find it a cinch redoing the top end yourself. You will feel good after doing it yourself too, not much to mess up, just make sure you get the mechanical timing right (the manual will tell you all you need to know) It's a lot easier than you think, best of luck to ya fellow triker!!!!

Depending on loudness/restrictions where you live...green sticker/state regulations, adding a header and open flow exhaust with a small jump in carb size, can bump up the fun factor. Trail or Race? rear/front tire sizes, axle widths, gearing can also be looked at for performance add-ons...but more for race than trail. I think what you got is OK for trail IMO...the tank looks like at least a 50mile+ (capasity)range. BARS also help with comfert to improve your confidence level in handeling. For $200 you got a good start on a trike thats not far from the best buddy bike one can own.
