Like title says, im very curious if a 86 trx 250r engine will fit my 85 atc 250r frame....and if so what are the differences? like will the stators be the same, clutch, mounting brackets? or what wil i need to modify to make this motor fit??? i came a cross a deal, and need to look at all sides of my situation

It will bolt right in. Even the stator connection will work.
All TRX motors 86 thru 89 will drop into 85/86 ATC250R frames.

Make sure it's a '86 - '89 lower end as the '85 had Kick starter problems...
It's could be Short rod or Long Rod, You'll need the correct piston.

What kind of kicker problems did the 85s have and he said its a complete rebuilt and running 86 motor
