    Tri-z 85 motor swap(yz)

    sorry about grammar im french.

Ok im about to buy a 85 tri-z 250 and i found that a yz 250 83 to 87 fit bolt-on in the frame. need to change kickstart side with original triz cover .. but my question is.

1:tri-z engine base and yz engine base (mean everyting except cylinder ) its exactly the same ? Cause I know yz motor have around 10more hp. Thoses hp are only due to cylinder head(power valve system) or there something diffenrent in the engine base too ?

2:Ok now about the Angle intake of the YZ engine .. i need to know wich mod ill have to do to fit the engine.

Any other info about this swap is welcome like fitting a stator for headlight etc.

    thx

There has been several articles on this that you can do a search for. At the end of the day I believe the cons outweighed the pros on the matter except maybe if you just got the cylinder which has the rev control. I think Mosh did an article on it with some detail. But there's a lot that can be done to the ytz engine to make it scream with the best of em.
